(BangkokPost.com) - Chart Thai and Puea Pandin parties on Wednesday postponed their announcement on joining a coalition government led by People Power party after the death of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana in the early morning.
"The party will not be involved in any political activities today, including the party executives meeting," deputy leader of Chart Thai party Nikhon Chamnong told reporters. "We will have to discuss for how long we will stop our activities."
Chief adviser of Chart Thai party, Sanan Kachornprasart said the announcement to join the coalition government scheduled for this evening would be postponed.
Puea Pandin spokesman Wachiramon Kunakasemthanawat said party leader Suvit Khunkitti ordered the cancellation of the press conference.
Chart Thai and Puea Pandin are expected to announce a move to join the coalition government led by People Power party that won 233 seats in Dec 23 general election.
So far, Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana and Pracharaj, which won two and one seats respectively, have already decided to join the coalition.
